Procrapination

What's going on in that big ol' head of yours?

It's amazing how much stuff I think up to post here when I'm supposed to be cleaning.

Right? This place gets some action, and lots of unrelated chores get done, when I should really just do the final, tedious portion of my freelance thing and get it done and over with.

And now I am in desperate need of something to post because I'm slowly going brain dead from the mountain of end-of-year paperwork I'm doing today, but I can't think of anything else to say. Except to say that I have nothing to say. Which is, in fact, killing a little time and giving me a bit of a break, so there you go.

Sigh. I need to get back to work and get the damn papers filled out so I can start the far more exciting work of taking things off the walls. At least that's something active to do, anyway.

Replying to myself to say that YAY, the paperwork is done! Well, almost. The only thing I have left to do is file everything and fill out the attendance records on each kid, but that filing cabinet is locked right now so it has to wait until tomorrow. But other that that, the boring paper stuff is done.

Of course now I'm sitting here looking around my room at all the dozens of things I need to take down and put away, and somehow my brain keeps finding things to do on the Internet instead.

I've been procrastinating in launching our latest giveaway and... it payed off! The prize was concert tickets and the concert got canceled.

Fall report cards are going home two weeks earlier than usual this year, and it's caught a lot of us by surprise. It's Sunday, and there are almost a dozen teachers at school, all freaking out because the district web is down and nobody can connect to report cards. I feel better knowing that I'm not the only one, at least, but I also know that I should have gotten them done earlier. But damn, it's hard to shake ten years of having them due the third week of December and make the switch to "last day in November". Oh well... I only have comments left to do, and only a few of those will be tough ones, so I can probably get them done tomorrow before school. I hope.

I'm at school yet again on a Sunday (I keep swearing I'm done with that, but no) and it is just amazing how many things I can find to do, that simply have to be done NOW, rather than clean my desk.

Teena, I procrastinated so much about cleaning my desk off, that someone else did it for me! And put everything into very nicely labeled folders. Don't you wish you shared an office now?

Despite it being a production day, I cannot believe how much I procrastinated yesterday. Starting any task felt like the equivalent of climbing a mountain.

I've decided that I need to have weekly goals for my summer chores (like making a doctor's appointment, finding a place to cut my hair, hauling stuff to Goodwill, as well as the daily stuff like cleaning and exercising) or else I'll fritter away my summer with promises of "not today, next week for sure" like I did all last summer. I'm not taking any classes this summer, I'm not going to California or anywhere else, so there are no excuses. I am way too good at putting stuff off because "I'm on vacation", damn it.
