Jamaica is beautiful. The Westender Inn is Paradise.
Even a delayed flight and hours of traffic, which caused yesterday’s “mid-afternoon arrival” to stretch late into the night, can’t cramp how wonderful this trip is already. We met up with everyone who had arrived at 3 Dives for jerk chicken, beans and rice seasoned with coconut milk, and calaloo, then checked into our room.
We could hear the waves crashing against the shore while we slept.
I’m on an ancient iBook G4 in the Inn’s restaurant. If I can get my hands on a faster connection later today, I’ll try to get some photos up – I already have a dozen gorgeous ones. Sorry if it sounds like I’m bragging, but even being told ahead of time how amazing this place is didn’t prepare me for what I’ve seen already.
In a half an hour or so, Matt and I are being picked up and then driven to a rainforest for white-water rafting. Later today, my dad and my other sister arrive. Dinner tonight, wedding tomorrow, Rick’s Sunday.
More soon.
