Reported for jury duty today. It was a day of waiting – we were probably spoken to and questioned for an hour, total. The other 9 hours (no kidding) were spent sitting on the floor outside of a courtroom. I was dismissed an hour ago, and my butt is still numb.

Two observations.

1. Considering the amount of focus on their public speaking skills, I am surprised at how often attorneys say “Uhh…”

2. Prospective jurors frequently answer questions different from the ones they were asked.
