Stuff I’m Doing

Recent obsessions:

craigslist.org
Hey, I didn’t say this was new stuff. The cohabitataion with scud is going pretty good, but we are sorely lacking one thing – places to put our clothes. We both managed this just fine living separately, but for whatever reason, it’s a major challenge these days. We don’t really have any “bedroom furniture” anyway. I’ve been checking craigslist an embarassing number of times per day. I’m in love with one set that I’m going to see tonight – send good vintage vibes my way.

genes
My sister went to be tested for the breast cancer gene. My mom had it. Even though they swear it’s a 50/50 shot, everyone else on that side who has been tested is positive. We’re due for a negative, and I’d be freaking delighted if that was my sister.

mexico
I got a free trip for opening a bank account. I know that sounds like the biggest scam in America, and maybe it is, but either way, I am buying a plane ticket and going to freaking Puerto Vallarta for a weekend. I’m just not exactly sure when or how, but I can taste the tequila already. And I don’t even like tequila.

weddings
Not mine, and not because I’m thirty. One of my best friends gets married in August. One of my sisters in October. My other best friend spring of next year. I’m in all of ‘em. That’s a lot of dresses to buy, travel to arrange, and toasts to think up. Which leads me to…

numbers
Combine all the wedding wackiness with new cohabitation budget and furniture purchases and post-holiday bills and scud’s birthday is two months away and I am obsessed with number crunching. I hate doing it, but there’s something satisfying about seeing it all laid out like that so I solider on. Do accountants “soldier?” I bet they do.

rubgy
Spring season/practices started. Feels good.

Maggie
She’s coming to Florida next month, for the first time in, like, five years. “I can’t wait” is a gross understatement, but it’ll have to do for now.
