I Hate Hurricane Wilma

And here is why.

1. I still don’t have power. That means no hot water. Three days may not sound like a lot, but it sure feels and smells like a long time.

2. We are still under a curfew. I work ‘till 8. Curfew starts at 8. Even if I wanted to grab a bite to eat, and the electricity was turned on in restaurants, well, I couldn’t.

3. No power also means gas stations can’t pump gas. I’m doing okay there for now, but sure as hell hope it’s sorted out before I’m on “E.”

4. I’ve been at work for 10 days in a row, and more than half of them were hurricaney and intense. I am so tired. I am so ready for tomorrow’s day off, I can’t even tell you.

I sort of like Hurricane Wilma, though, for a couple of reasons.

1. It’s helped me meet my new neighbors. They are a fantastic crowd. We’ve been having cookouts and drinking and hanging out, and it’s so nice not to live next to a douchebag who calls the police with a noise complain when I drop a feather or crumple up a kleenex anymore.

2. Candlelight is pretty romantic.
